For those attending Philmont in 2026, payment number 2 is due this Monday, 9/22. 

Payment Schedule:

• Payment #1: $150/person - Due to the Troop by November 25, 2024 
• Payment #2: $735/person - Due to the Troop by September 22, 2025
• Payment #3: $735/person - Due to the Troop by February 23, 2026
• Payment #4: Remaining balance (including transportation costs etc.) - TBD

Payments submitted by Zelle should be sent to Troop 617 (not Troop 4617!) using the Troop Treasurer email address: TREASURER@BSATROOP617.ORG
Be sure to include the details of what the payment is for in the memo.

It is popcorn season again and time to start fundraising for all the awesome activities lined up for this school year and coming summer!

Scouts – Summer camp is fast approaching and you need to pick your Merit Badge preferences this week! Our Summer Camp Coordinator, Ms. Manuel, needs your forms back NO LATER THAN Monday April 14!

Once you know what you'd like to register for, please complete a Merit Badge Request Form.  Since there is a chance that your requested class will be full, you may want to work our 2 or 3 possible schedules, therefore you might turn in more than one form.  Please circle the number of your preference in the top left of the paper (1 for first choice, 2 for second choice, etc.).

Ms. Manuel will be at both the April 7 and April 14 meetings for you to ask questions or turn in your forms.  

We have taken the Troop Gear Order Form online.  It can now be found in the left navigation menu "Troop Gear Order".  We will be submitting our next order at the end of the month.  Orders and payments must be received by MARCH 31!  Please consider whether you need new troop gear for Summer Camp.

Many of you will be updating Medical Forms (in particular, Part C) in preparation for attending Summer Camp.  Here are some reminders:

• The Medical Form can be found online here.
• When bringing in your updated Medical Form, please bring TWO (2) HARD COPIES.  They do not both need to be originals; one can be a photocopy.
• Always retain a copy for your own records in case it is needed later.
• Please complete the Medical Form electronically (for example, in Adobe Acrobat Reader or Microsoft Edge).  Note that you can save the completed form to make future updates easier. 
• On Page A, both the Scout and the Parent must sign. 
• On Page B2, be sure to choose "yes" or "no" for OTC medication, and sign where indicated. 
• On Page B2, you must enter ALL the vaccination details on the form - you cannot attach additional pages. 
• A copy of your insurance card must also be submitted with the Medical Form.
